Let me state the visible trends which I saw….
From single Desktop application to multiple users, then using the application over the intranet where n number of user can user it. Slowly we started using Server based applications where n x n users can used the application. With penetration of internet the reach became more where n x n x n and keeps counting.
Changes happen with the trend. soon we will be carrying our operation system in a pen drive and just connect it to a computer and use this as our primary operating system and use internet as the medium for all our desktop applications.
Zoho offer a whole bundle for us…some services are free as of now and soon they will be charged. Sridhar Vembu is the CEO of AdventNet, which owns Zoho, a new on-demand office suite we’ve been hearing about a lot lately
Interesting things you should know about Sridhar Vembu and earlier i shared about Jambav.com it is part of AdventNet
• He is not from Software background he is from electrical background did his under graduation in IIT and doctorate from Princeton in 1989
• He worked with Qualcomm for two years. He worked on CDMA, power control and some very detailed issues on wireless communications. That is how he got started in the tech industry.
• He partnering with Tony Thomas, who had some network management software and was experienced in the area. They partnered and created a development center in India
• As of now there was no investment money of any kind, only some family and friends. Their early software for networking business started selling well and sold a lot to companies in Silicon Valley and Japan. Latter on in 2002 it came down and the new idea born from OEM to on demand services that is how Zoho was born.

Few Indian Start ups
We are on fast sphere changes are so quick, there are lots of developments happening around us and we are noticing them late…
Now I got time to say about few Indian Startups. These website came with cool concept and they have to penetrate to the reach soon they will stand tall with other websites.
1. Criticat.com (where you can rate your company and share your work experiences)
2. Ilaaka.com (India's first locality portal)
3. Imom.in (For today’s informative mom’s)
4. Burrp.com (Share local and search local)
5. Jambav.com (Online games for children)
First let me start with Criticat
Criticat a new start up by Shweta Gupta
Where you can rate you company and share your workplace experiences and provide constructive feedback.
When I was going through Indian startups, I found Criticat and found it interesting with innovative concept where we can rate you employer and share your experiences.
Here is a review about Satyam I was dumb a moment and just understood it was a review right from the heart….so, no comments
Satyam is one of the big IT companies in India roughly at no. 3 or 4 position.
First the good things:
1. If you are an andhriite and work in Satyam, you are semi god. you need not join any company in your life.
2. Satyam has a huge social impact in Andhra and if you are satyamiite, you get a lot of respect in Andhra and lot of dowry too. So ppl will not leave satyam until they get married.
3. Offers onsite and that too long term, so if you are ok with a low or moderate salary hike, just wait there and have patience and trust me you will be in America. No other company will send you but one day, one day in satyam you will surely be on site and come back only if you want to.
4. Most of the people are average so if you are bright you have good growth prospects in the company.
The bad ones :
1. never open a big mouth for salary.
2. never ask for too many perks.
3. if you go on site your appraisal is screwed no matter what you do.
4. lot of family ppl join Satyam, making it more of a family company.
5. Managers are not answerable for everything, even if he doesnt know know how to speak english, he can become a consultant.
6. On site calls will be mainly in Telugu and you should know telugu if you want to excel if you have gone on site too, because US is full of Telugus and they dont speak english sometimes not even in front of clients.
7. Ppl stick to their positions and take no risk at all which is the worst part.
8. Some ppl really dress up horribly, i would say 10% of Satyam is shabbily dressed up in slippers.
10. PM level ppl are ok in commuting to office by sitting on staircase of the company bus.
I feel, sooner or later Satyam will be sold off to someone.
Raju deserves all the appreciation for creating such a huge enterprise out of nothing. Satyam is big reason for the large number of Andhra guys in US.
Check out the link here…
.http://www.criticat.com/working-satyam
Criticat is a great idea and it has to penetrate to the reach
1. It will be useful for employees when they are logging in to new companies they can check out the work place reviews of the company they are to be soon
2. Companies can check out the ratings by employees
3. Companies will get a snapshot of the gaps in the work place and can soon find time to fill them.
The navigation in the web site is quite easy and you can log in with Yahoo or Google ids
So, login and start share your review with others about the company you are working and know about other companies.
Here comes
Ilaaka.com

Here is what I am waiting to tell every Indian. We use orkut, face book to be in touch with friends and web 2.0 made great impacts on networking with friends and here is new idea to be in touch with friends and share the local events and updates with our friends
There are lots of gaps in international website, we cannot change it to our local reach and ilakka does it for us
We can meet local people and create local events invite our friends etc
There are lot many things you can do on ilakka

You can meet new local people
You can create coffee clubs similar to orkut communities
You can search and upload events and discounts in you local cities
You can recommend you local restaurant or panipuri center
Still lot more like blogs, classifieds, news etc
So ultimate web site for local use and local updates
Here comes
Imom.in

Good concept to serve the niche, with rapid changes in city life and increasing working women created space for imom.com. Where moms can share their experiences, how to bring up children they can ask, connect, read, and reviews

I remember my childhood days where moms used to get suggestion from grand mothers and other elders and follow them
But today if my mother asks my Grand mother
Which is the best school in Hyderabad?
Where we will have best summer camp?
Suggest a good school project for my 9 year old?
What will my Grand mother answer?
But imom can answer.
So moms create an account …..
Here Comes
Burrp.com

We can find and share our views on local stuff

Great place to share your reviews
You can add new restaurants in your place and give your reviews and read others reviews
Blah: (India's first lifestyle focused online magazine)
Here we can post about any topic under the sun and they call it on line magazine
I stated reading few movie review and other topics and I kept on reading …so don’t miss
Here read the posting by an author Black Bubblegum
http://blah.burrp.com/author/blackbubblegum/
Girls you are going to learn a lot
Time magazine came out with Special edition saying person or the year is “YOU” yes all these things are possible with internet where people are coming out and sharing their experiences making this world a small place to live.
Finally here comes
Jambav.com

Cool website for children
If I have to say about my childhood ….we are brought up in a join family and our siblings number counts 16 in same house, my number is 7 we all spent our time playing indoor games like caroms, snake and ladder and quarrel with each other if we are not declared as winners.
If it’s a Sunday our house in a home theatre and I still remember, its Jungle book time in DD followed by the Mahabharata
If I asked how my grand father enjoyed his childhood it a different story …
Coming to today’s generation of X-box and play stations…they will teach their parents what to buy and how to buy.
Surveys on children showed they are the decision makers in the family they select which car to buy and finalize what color is better.
They became gold rush for companies so now a day even the product is not related to children you find them in ads.
So this website is for today’s children for all abilities
Its best site parents can introduce to their children.

A proxy server that removes identifying information from the client's requests for the purpose of anonymity is called an anonymizing proxy server or anonymizer.
anonymous proxy, is a tool that attempts to make activity on the internet untraceable. It accesses the Internet on the user's behalf, protecting personal information by hiding the source computer's identifying information.
Few website which provide anonymous surfing are

Unlimited GMail E-mail Add Trick
Use Gmail to Generate Unlimited E-mail Addresses:
Gmail has an interesting quirk where you can add a plus sign (+) after your Gmail address, and it'll still get to your inbox. It's called plus-addressing, and it essentially gives you an unlimited number of e-mail addresses to play with. Here's how it works: say your address is ravigadu@gmail.com and you want to automatically label all work e-mails. Add a plus sign and a phrase to make it ravigadu+work@gmail.com and set up a filter to label it work (to access your filters go to Settings->Filters and create a filter for messages addressed to ravigadu+work@gmail.com. Then add the label work).
More real world examples:
Find out who is spamming you: Be sure to use plus-addressing for every form you fill out online and give each site a different plus address.
Example: You could use
ravigadu+nytimes@gmail.com for nytimes.com
ravigadu+freestuff@gmail.com for freestuff.com
Then you can tell which site has given your e-mail address to spammers, and automatically send them to the trash.
Automatically label your incoming mail: I've talked about that above.
Archive your mail: If you receive periodic updates about your bank account balance or are subscribed to a lot of mailing lists that you don't check often, then you can send that sort of mail to the archives and bypass your Inbox.
Example: For the mailing list, you could give ravigadu+mailinglist1@gmail.com as your address, and assign a filter that will archive mail to that address automatically. Then you can just check in once in a while on the archive if you want to catch up.
